Part of my studies during my time at the International Wilderness Guide school in Finland, this two week solo ski in winter was not only a practical exam, but a huge test of all the skills we had learnt. A few of the students weren't even allowed to go on the trip such was the potential risk. Complete solitude, sunny days, -20 nights, northern lights, cutting my leg open with an axe...it was bliss.
